Shoewel

This project was born from encounters with local artists and artisans who share a calling and a mission: to reinterpret and tell the story of Sicily through their art.

At first glance, we recognise their craftsmanship—the ability to transform a shoe into something unique.

Looking more closely, we begin to see the time, the apprenticeship, the gestures, the mistakes, the skill and the care that made that result possible.

Looking deeper still, we discover that every handmade object also carries something of the person who created it: their story, their way of seeing, their way of living and interpreting the world.

That is how meeting Carlo and Vincenzo transformed the way we imagine a shoe, too.
